Anton Kashshai - noted representative of Trans-Carpathian school of painting. Born in 1921 in Trans-Carpathian region. Studied art under famous painter-teacher I.Bokshai. In 1964 received "People's Artist of the USSR" award. Collections: The National Ukrainian Museum of Art in Kiev, The Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, Carpathian Art Museum and numerous small museums throughout the ex-USSR as well as in private collections worldwide.
